The Ryan White Program - The University of Toledo Medical Center

The Ryan White Program ** at the University of Toledo Medical Center is the only HIV Clinic offering long range treatment in NW Ohio. 
[From the About Us page ] This program offers high quality, comprehensive HIV/AIDS care services though a multidisciplinary health care team. The program incorporates Adult Primary Care, Adult and Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Mental Health Counseling, Nutritional Counseling, Case Management, Consumer Advocacy, Financial Counseling and 340B Pharmacy Services using a “one–stop shop” model. The Ryan White program also provides HIV testing and education in Lucas County and the surrounding counties.

Ryan White Care Programs (State of Ohio)

The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program is part of the Ohio Department of Health.  It promotes health and access to quality care for Ohioans living with HIV. The HIV Care Services Section offers a spectrum of services designed to help people with HIV and their families.

Programs include case management, drug assistance, quality management, and the Minority AIDS initiative. More information about these programs may be found here.

Other State of Ohio Programs

Quality Management  promotes continuous improvement in our programs by meeting the Ryan White Care Act requirements for quality management. These requirements include: 1) measuring how well HIV health services meet Public Health Guidelines, and 2) developing strategies for improving access to quality HIV health services such as medical care and case management services. Ohio HIV Drug Assistance Program (OHDAP)  provides medications to treat HIV and HIV-related conditions. This program is the payer of last resort. For eligible participants, HIV-related medications are provided free of charge. The medications are obtained through a specialty mail-order pharmacy to ensure confidentiality and to ensure all geographic areas of Ohio have equal access to this service. To be eligible, an applicant must re-enroll at the beginning of each enrollment period, be a resident of Ohio, be HIV positive, and meet financial-eligibility guidelines.

HIV Health Insurance Premium Payment Program makes direct premium payments for consumers to continue existing health insurance policies.

OHIO HIV Medicaid Spenddown Payment Program (OHMSDP) enables individuals to access “public health insurance” with the payment of a “spenddown” to the Medicaid program. Individuals must have previously applied for Medicaid with their county

Ohio AIDS Coalition (OAC)  is a division of Equitas Health (formerly AIDS Resource Center Ohio) providing education, leadership training, advocacy, and support for Ohio’s HIV/AIDS community.
