Library Access for Volunteer Faculty : Need Help?

Details about how to access library resources and services as a volunteer faculty member or preceptor.

I can't remember my username and/or password

If you can't remember your library username and/or password, call the Mulford Library at 419.383.4225.

If you can't remember your ILLiad password, there is a link under the login fields to reset your password. (The new password will be emailed to the email address in your account profile.)

If you can't remember your ILLiad username, call the University Libraries' Interlibrary Services Office at 419.530.2576 or 419.530.7908.

I can't access a resource

Many of the online resources available through the Libraries are only available to users who are registered with the Libraries. If you are not able to access a resource that you think you should be able to access:

Are you registered with the Libraries? Call the Mulford Library at 419.383.4225. Our staff members can confirm if your information is in the system. If not, they will refer your call to David Remaklus, Coordinator of Access Services at the Mulford Library, at 419.383.4858 or david.remaklus@utoledo.edu. If your account has expired, David can also help with renewal.

Are you attempting to access a resource that is not available off-campus? While most of our resources are available off-campus, a few of them are not. These are marked with "no remote access" or "not available off-campus." If you need specific information from one of these resources, contact Mulford Reference Assistance.

Are you accessing the resource using the correct link? Many of our licensed online resources have special URLs (web addresses) that you need to use for access. Use the links in this LibGuide, the Mulford Library's web page, or the Libraries' catalog.

Still no luck? Contact Mulford Reference Assistance. We can check to see if there is a problem on the publisher's end.

I need a book/article that UToledo doesn't have

Interlibrary loan is a service offered by libraries to get you materials that aren't available at your local library. At the University of Toledo, we use a system called ILLiad for book and article requests. To use ILLiad, you will first need to create a new account. If you don't have a UTAD username, you may want to use your name.

Journal articles

Once you have an account, login to ILLiad and complete the article request form. When the article is available, you will receive an email from ILLiad to log in and download the article.

Books, reports, dissertations, etc.

Note: if you need a book that we don't have at UToledo, try to request the book through OhioLINK first. It can be delivered and dropped off at any OhioLINK library.

Once you have an account, login to ILLiad and complete the appropriate request form. When the material is in, you will receive an email from ILLiad to let you know that it has arrived at the Library and that you can come to pick it up.
