Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad): For Users at Other Libraries

Borrowing items or obtaning copies from outside of the UT Libraries or OhioLINK.

Borrowing items from the University of Toledo Libraries

If you are not affiliated with the University of Toledo and need to borrow an item from our collection, please contact the interlibrary loan department of your local library to have them request the item for you.

Users with borrowing priveleges at other OhioLINK libraries should see the OhioLINK Borrowing tab for information about placing requests for UT items through the OhioLINK catalog, or for picking up items in person through the Visiting OhioLINK Patron program.

For information about our rare books, university archives, or manuscript collections, please contact the staff at the Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections.

Interested in a UT Thesis or Dissertation?

As materials that are often unique to our libraries, we often get requests for our dissertations and theses.  Most of these have a circulating copy that can be requested through your own college or university's interlibrary loan department.

Some of our dissertations and theses may be available in the OhioLINK Electronic Thesis & Dissertation Center or in our Digital Repository.  Prior to 2010, this was optional for our graduates, but since 2010, all dissertations and theses should be available electronically from one of these collections.

Unfortunately, we are unable to lend materials overseas. However, dissertations may be available from the UMI (ProQuest) company. This is not an Interlibrary Loan service since UMI is a private company. Please note that they set the price, and currently the cost averages $61.00 (US).  To order a dissertation from this company you can use the Dissertation Express Service at this link:
