How to find standards used in engineering design

Getting started

Whether you're a student or working engineer, standards of some type are used in most engineering design projects. Various agencies and organizations issue standards. Standards can be tricky to locate. They are updated irregularly and the newest version may not be the one cited in a reference. Adding to the fun, they may be deleted or superceded by another standard with a different name.  This LibGuide will show you some sources for standards. You can get additional assistance by contacting the Engineering Librarian.

Request a Standard from the Libraries

Students, faculty and staff of The University of Toledo may request standards using the form below. You will be notified by email when the standard is available or if we need more information. If you have any questions about the process or anything else concerning standards, please contact the Engineering Librarian. His contact information is listed to the right.

What else to try

Okay, so you've tried the sources listed in this LibGuide, you've looked in the UToledo and the OhioLINK Catalogs to see if we have access to it here or through another Ohio library and you've tried interlibrary loan (ILL) and you still can't find what you need. Take a look in Google to see if it's available there. If you're still not finding what you're looking for, please contact the Engineering Librarian for assistance.
