Overview

This guide is intended as a hub for furthering the conversation around continuing education, professional activity, and scholarship among the University Libraries & Academic Support faculty. Upcoming events, call for papers deadlines, and webinars will be listed on the calendar, and a list of upcoming Continuing Education events will be maintained. Sites that can assist you are listed on this page, as well as concept papers and reports to generate discussion. The second tab of this guide is a resource for finding upcoming conferences, calls for papers/posters/proposals, and webinars, as well as an archive of past webinars for your own professional development.

ECAR Study of Undergraduate Students and Information Technology | EDUCAUSE
Since 2004, the annual ECAR study of undergraduate students and information technology has sought to shed light on how information technology affects the college experience. We ask students about the technology they own and how they use it in and out of their academic world. We gather information about how skilled students believe they are with technologies; how they perceive technology is affecting their learning experience; and their preferences for IT in courses.

Project Information Literacy
Project Information Literacy (PIL) is a nonprofit research institute that conducts national, ongoing scholarly studies on how early adults find and use information as they progress through, and beyond, their higher education years.

ALAO Grants and Awards
ALAO Continuing Education Grant Program
The Academic Library Association of Ohio (ALAO) Continuing Education Grant is awarded each year to support the cost of participating in professional development opportunities such as conferences, workshops, seminars, etc. which are related to the member’s current position, in pursuit of a professional library degree, or growth of DEI knowledge and leadership. Current ALAO members are eligible to apply for funds to defray the costs of attending any library-related educational opportunity occurring during the calendar year.
