Music Recordings & Scores: Home

All of our recorded music is available from the Circulation Desk on the first floor of Carlson Library.  To find musical recordings, you can search by author (which includes both composers and performers) or by title and then Limit/Sort the search to Material Type: Music Record.  A keyword search with the Material Type: Music Record will allow you to combine terms from both the author and the title.

Sheet music or scores are shelved with the book collection.  To find musical scores, you can search by author/composer or by title and then Limit/Sort the search by limiting to Material type: Music Score.  A keyword search with the Material Type: Music Score will allow you to combine terms from both the composer and the title.

Some OhioLINK libraries will loan their music, so you may want to search on the OhioLINK Library Catalog.  However, many schools do not lend their recordings, and those that do will only lend them for 1 week with no renewal.

• OhioLINK Music Center featuring more than 78,000 tracks and 21,000 works from the Naxos Music Library. Users can search for and listen to tracks in six genres - Chinese music, classical music, opera, jazz, spoken word and world music - with works from many well-known composers, including Bach, Handel, Beethoven, Chopin, Strauss, Copeland, and Ellington.

The public library system in Toledo and Lucas County also has music recordings, and includes more general entertainment and popular music than UToledo.  When searching the TLCPL Catalog, limit the Material Type to Music-CD (or Music-Cassette).  Be sure to note the library or branch where the recording is located.
