The American Journal of Nursing (AJN) was first published in 1900. It is the first professional nursing journal in the United States, by nurses and for nurses.
The UToledo Libraries provide full-text access to articles in AJN from every issue going back to 1900 until the present day.
It is an excellent resource for locating historical information from articles published in the early years of professional nursing. Many current articles in AJN also discuss nursing history topics.
Nursing History Review is the official journal of the American Association for the History of Nursing.
It publishes historical research studies on nursing and healthcare topics, and is the premier research journal for scholarly articles on nursing history.
The UToledo Libraries provide full-text access to articles since 2005.
