The most direct way to get a hold of a reference librarian for immediate assistance during regular business hours (generally 9 am - 5 pm, M-F) is to contact us via chat. From our chat widget, available on every page of the library's website, you can chat with a librarian in the Carlson Library Reference Department. Each library location maintains its own reference staff and schedule. For quick answers to questions such as where to find something or what resources we have on a topic, the reference desk is your best bet.

Reference librarians are also available by appointment for one-on-one reference consultation and instruction. Scheduling an appointment allows librarians time to provide in-depth help with your research. Individuals who choose this option typically have a research question in mind or need specialized training in a specific database.
