Working in collaboration with UT departments, organizations and groups across all campuses and populations, we offer a variety of prevention-based wellness programming and outreach to create a culture of health.

Annual Physical: A visit with a primary care physician to evaluate overall health and well-being. Typically includes monitoring vitals such as weight, blood pressure, cholesterol etc. An annual physical can be used as a replacement to the health screening for Blue medical plan members.
Blue Medical Plan: The University of Toledo's consumer-directed health plan
Consumer-Directed Health Plan (CDHP): A high-deductible health plan in which members have greater control over medical care, health care costs and expenses because they decide where to go to receive services. Once the annual out-of-pocket maximum has been met, the plan pays the remainder of the annual medical and prescription drug costs.
Health Risk Assessment: An online health questionnaire used to provide individuals with an evaluation of their health risks and quality of life.
Health Savings Account (HSA): A tax advantages account that helps pay for qualified medical expenses. It is designed to work with a qualifying high deductible health plan. The money goes in tax-free, grows income tax-free and comes out income tax-free when it is used for qualified medical expenses.
Health Screening: A 15-minute appointment for height, weight, blood pressure and blood draw. The blood draw includes a lipid panel and glucose. Screenings are offered annually on Main Campus and Health Science Campus, to all Healthy U members, during October and November.
Healthy U: a voluntary wellness program available to all benefit-eligible UToledo employees.
Healthy U Enrollment: Opting in to participate in the Healthy U program for benefit eligible employees during open enrollment.
Impact Solutions: UToledo’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which offers confidential support for employees and their household members, dependents living away from home, and parents and parents-in-law for free.
Open Enrollment: Annual period for benefit-eligible employees to elect their benefits including medical, dental, vision, financial etc.
Prevent T2: A CDC recognized lifestyle-change program to assist employees in preventing type 2 diabetes. It is a structured program designed for people who have prediabetes or are at risk for type 2 diabetes, but who do not already have diabetes.
Rocket Wellness: UToledo department committed to prioritizing the health and well-being of the UT community through collaborative programming.
Rocket Ex: Group exercise classes provided by the UToledo Office of Recreation at the Student Recreation Center and the Morse Fitness Center. The classes are free to UTREC members.
Telcare: A diabetes management program offered through UT Pharmacies and Cerpass Rx. The program includes access to innovative meters and test strips with no copay. Additionally, program participants will receive ongoing individualized support from a Certified Diabetes Educator and access to clinical pharmacist visits.
UTREC: UToledo's Recreation Services
Wellness Incentive: UToledo employees who elect the Blue medical plan are eligible to receive an additional employer HSA contribution upon completion of the required wellness actions.
Wellness Action: Self-reported actions that must be reported by the annual deadline for members of the Blue medical to receive the wellness incentive.
