Search Tip #1

When looking for resources on specific states, try typing your state followed by site:gov For example Ohio site:gov This will limit your search to .gov sites

Search Tip #2

Try searching in Google Scholar and limit your search to Case Law. You can further limit to federal courts or state courts

Search Tip #3

Use quotes to search for phases. For example, using "open adoption" will look for the phrase itself, rather than just both words anywhere in a page.

Search Tip #4

Use - to exclude words from your search. For example, flowers -pink will look for pages that include the word flowers but not the word pink.

Search Tip #5

Google also offers an advanced search Google Advanced Search which allows you to expand or narrow your search.
