New Printers at Mulford Library

by Jolene Miller on 2020-09-03T09:14:00-04:00 in Health Science Campus, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, Health Sciences | Comments

On Thursday, September 3, Mulford Health Science Library is getting new printers/photocopiers, including color!  Here's what you need to know:

  • Printing will be unavailable during the installation. The closest printers are on the first floor of the Health Education Building, in the computer lounge near room 105. If your program is based in the Collier Building or the Wolfe Center, you may have access to printers in those buildings.
  • Your college set your print quota (500 prints for most colleges). If you have concerns about your quota, please talk to your program. The Library cannot adjust print quotas. Additional prints can be purchased through Auxiliary Services ($20 for an additional 1000 prints).
    • Grayscale (black) printing: one single-sided page printed = 1 print from quota
    • Grayscale (black) printing: one double-sided page printed = 1.5 prints from quota
    • Color printing: one single-sided page printed = 3 prints from quota
    • Color printing: one double-sided page printed = 4.5 prints from quota
    • Update September 15, 2020:  we DO have color printing for students: use the printer in room 408, nearest the door.
  • Your print job will not print until you go to the printer and login (by either scanning your badge/Rocket ID card or logging in with your UTAD credentials). Select the print job you wish to print, and it will print.
    • This will save you from wasting your prints, and in the time of COVID-19, it is safer (no one will be handling your printout except you).
  • While the new printers will be easy to use, there will be instructions will be posted by the new printers.

Thanks for your patience with this transition! Not only are the printers/copies new to you, they are also new to library employees.

PS - We're especially pleased that the new system will allow students to print in color (which has been a regular request over they years).
