Room Reservations for Residency Interviews

by Jolene Miller on 2020-11-04T10:20:00-05:00 in Medicine | 0 Comments

In support of M4 students who are participating in online interviews this year for their medical residencies, the Mulford Health Science Library has four study rooms available for these students to reserve for interviews.

To make a reservation: email the dates and times of your interviews to jolene.miller@utoledo.edu. She will check to see if rooms are available. If so, she will email you the room number(s) for the interview time(s).

Important information about using library rooms for residency interviews

Your reservation time will include 30 extra minutes on either side of the requested reservation time to give you time to get settled in and to clean up when you are done. For residency interviews, we have set aside rooms that will have the least amount of ambient noise, but be aware that the rooms are not soundproof. Using a set of headphones with a built-in microphone will help minimize noise during your interview.

The room has a table, chair, and electrical outlet. Bring the following items with you.

  • Laptop or tablet
  • Headphones with a microphone (this will provide you with better sound quality for your interview than using the microphone built in to your device)
  • Device charger

WiFi information

  • Make sure that you have tested Wi-Fi on the device that you will be using for your interview, well in advance so that you have time to resolve any issues with the IT Department (419-383-2400).
  • Two options: UT Guest (which does not require a password) and Eduroam (the most secure option; see https://www.utoledo.edu/it/ns/Networking.html for more information on getting Eduroam set up on your laptop)
  • If you have issues with Wi-Fi, please contact the IT Department at 419-383-2400. The Library cannot fix any problems with campus Wi-Fi.

COVID-19 Precautions

  • You are required to wear a mask at all times while in the library except for when you are connected to and participating in the online interview. Wear a mask before and after your interview and whenever you are on campus.
  • For your safety, sanitize the table before you get settled. For the safety of others, sanitize the table again before you leave.

NOTE: If you no longer need the space or if your schedule has changed, please email me as soon as you know that you will no longer need the room.

If you have questions while you are on campus, please contact Jolene at 419-383-4959. You can also ask at the library service desk on the fourth floor or call 419-383-4225.
