Tips for creating an account:

- Non-alphanumeric characters
Once you have entered your information, you will be e-mailed a confirmation which you must respond to within 48 hours to complete your registration.
*If prompted, the connection is secure... you can safely add an exception and connect to the site.
In order to use SciFinder Scholar, you must agree to the following License Agreement Terms (summarized):
1) You are a current faculty, staff member, or registered student of the University.
2) You will use SciFinder only for University-related or publicly funded research intended for publication, NOT commercial or contract research.
3) I will not store more than 5,000 records, and won't distrubute records to others.

The most common problems logging in to SciFinder Scholar on the Web are because:
You are not using the off-campus proxy. If you get a message that you are "Not authorized from this IP address", you need to use the link: http://0-scifinder.cas.org.carlson.utoledo.edu/
Wrong Username or Password. If you cannot remember your username or password, you can retrieve it using your e-mail address and the answer to your security question at the 'Forgot Username or Password?' link on the Login screen.
Recommended web browsers and operating systems:
Java (JRE) Plug-In Requirements
Structure drawing requires a Java plug-in. A 64-bit version of Java is required for 64-bit browsers. For all supported operating systems and browsers use Java version 1.6.0_32 or later. Visit the Java test page to see if Java is working on your computer.
