Scholars@UToledo

A companion site to the Scholars@UToledo portal of faculty research profiles

Searching

You can search from the Home page or from the Search box at the upper right.  All information is searched, so you can search for names, keywords, publication titles, etc.

A menu on the right of your search results will help you filter to show just People, Research publications, etc.

Search Tips:

  • When you enter multiple terms, results will contain all terms (AND)
  • To search for a phrase, put it in quotation marks:  "human trafficking"
  • To search for either of two or more words put OR between them:  Headache OR migraine
  • Use an asterisk, *, at the end of a word stem to find multiple endings: neuro* will find Neuron, Neurosis, Neurology, Neuroscience, etc.

Browsing

Using the menu links at the upper right, you can browse through alphabetical lists of

  • People – Faculty researchers arranged by rank and then by last name
  • Research – Publication & Presentation titles, arranged by source and publication type, then by title
  • Departments & Colleges – Arranged by name.  Colleges will have sub-organizations (Departments).  Departments will have faculty associated with them listed individually.  Some Faculty may be associated with Colleges but not individual Departments.

Featured Publications on the Home Page

Publications are featured on the homepage that meet certain criteria.  All data is provided by the Web of Science Core Collection from Clarivate Analytics.

  • Hot Papers – Hot papers are papers that receive a large number of citations soon after publication, relative to other papers of the same field and age. More precisely, they are papers published in the past two years that received a number of citations in the most recent two-month period that places them in the top 0.1% of papers in the same field.
  • International Collaborations - A paper is written with international collaboration if it has at least two different countries/territories in its address field.
  • Industry Collaborations - An industry collaborative publication is one that lists its organization type as “corporate” for one or more of the co-author’s affiliations. (There will be corporate affiliations that have not yet been identified as an industrial collaboration.)
  • Open Access Publications – These publications have been made available to readers free of charge and require no subscription to access.
