Overview

Theses and Dissertations are the culmination and final written record of many graduate degrees.

If you are a graduate student, you may want to find information about dissertations and theses for a variety of reasons:

  • To see examples of the fomat and general layout of the publication in your subject field
  • To read books about how to go about the writing process (see the Selected books... box in this page)
  • To find other researchers who may have written on your subject, but never published as a journal article or book
  • To find out more about submitting your own thesis or dissertation electronically

If you are a researcher, you may be interested in doing a comprehensive search for publications in your field, including the output of graduate researchers.

This guide should help in any case.  See the Finding Theses & Dissertations tab for more information about locating these publications at The University of Toledo, at other OhioLINK institutions, or across the US and internationally.  There is also information regarding searching for electronic copies.  If you are submitting your own work to the College of Graduate Studies, the Electronic Theses & Dissertation tab will have more information about how to convert your document and upload it to the OhioLINK ETD Center.
