If Artwork is Accepted: Bringing in Your Artwork

Scheduling

  • Artists with accepted artwork must schedule a date/time to bring their artwork into the Mulford Library.
  • An online sign-up form will be e-mailed to all artists to schedule an appointment to bring in their artwork.
  • Artists will also be required to sign an Artist Release & Waiver of Liability Form.

IMPORTANT: Artwork Must Be Ready To Hang

Artists are Responsible for Ensuring Artwork is Ready to Hang

  • Any artwork that is meant to be hung for display (i.e. photographs, paintings, drawings) must be ready to hang properly. The Mulford Library does not provide framing and/or hanging materials.
  • A wire across the back of the piece is a preferred method for hanging and provides the greatest stability especially for larger or heavier pieces.
  • Sawtooth and D-Ring picture hangers also work nicely.

If you have any questions, or are unsure how to prepare your artwork for the exhibit, please contact Jodi Jameson at jodi.jameson@utoledo.edu or 419.383.5152.

The hooks that we use in the showcase are very similar to this white hook on the wall.

Medium to large size D-Rings work best to fit over the hook.

When the Showcase is Over: Returning Artwork to Artists

Disassembling the Exhibition

  • The Committee takes down the artwork following the last day of the Showcase.
  • Artwork is safely stored in a locked, non-public office that can only be accessed by library staff.
  • Care is taken to ensure that artwork is secure and that pieces are not stacked upon one another to prevent any damage.

Returning Artwork to Artists

Scheduling

  • One week prior to the end of the Exhibition, the Showcase Committee Chair emails all artists with instructions for scheduling a time to pick-up their artwork.
  • Appointments are scheduled over a two-week period following the close of the Showcase.
  • Reminder e-mails are sent to all artists who do not pick up their artwork.
  • Works that have not been picked up 30 days after the close of the exhibition are considered abandoned.
