Use the online catalog to find both print and electronic books on mathematics in UToledo Libraries. A keyword search will look for the words you specify in various fields including titles, authors, subject headings, and contents notes.
There are two versions of the catalog you can search.
Carlson Library uses the alphanumeric Library of Congress Classification System for shelving print books. Mathematics books usually have call numbers that start with QA. Relevant call number ranges include:
QA 1-43 General mathematics
QA 47-59 Mathematical tables
QA 101-145 Elementary mathematics. Arithmetic.
QA 150-272.5 Algebra
QA 273-280 Probabilities. Mathematical statistics.
QA 299.6-433 Analysis
QA 440-699 Geometry. Trigonometry. Topology.
QA 801-939 Analytic mechanics
Except for course reserves, all Carlson Library books that can be checked out are on the 4th floor. Follow the appropriate aisle signage to help you locate a specific QA mathematics book on the shelf or to browse call number ranges of interest.
