Government Statistics

The U.S. government is considered to be the largest producer of statistics in the world. Statistics are the most heavily used type of government information; they are very important to scholars, researchers and analysts as they provide data that help defend arguments and authenticate research.

Data collection in the United States, that began with the decennial census, has gradually moved to include various other statistical projects to facilitate a better understanding of other areas of interest to the nation such as business, health, education, crime, environment etc.
