Kanopy remains a popular streaming video resource for in-person and virtual learning by UToledo faculty and students. To assist library patrons that may wish to show films during larger group events outside of the classroom, where no admission fee is charged, Kanopy has begun labelling specific titles that come with Public Performance Rights (PPR) built into the University Libraries licenses. Films that come with PPR now have a distinct PPR icon next to the film’s runtime. For more information on Kanopy PPR and tips for limiting Kanopy searches to films that include PPR, please see the Kanopy Help article “Does Kanopy Support Public Performance Rights?”
A reminder to the community as we prepare for the new academic year, subscription access to Films On Demand (FoD) and Feature Films for Education ended May 31, 2022. The temporary access had been paid via the 2021 Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) funds awarded to the OhioLINK consortium to assist hybrid teaching and learning during the pandemic. A collection of 624 purchased OhioLINK videos can still be accessed through the Films On Demand platform until March 2024, however. Comprised of a collection of Films for the Humanities & Sciences videos with broad subject coverage, these 624 videos had been previously hosted on the retired OhioLINK Digital Resource Commons (DRC) platform.
Funded by the University of Toledo Psychology Clinic, with remote access supported by the University Libraries, all UToledo students, faculty, and staff will regain access to 30 additional streaming videos within Psychotherapy.net this academic year. The Psychotherapy.net video collection focuses on psychotherapeutic and counseling techniques and treatment, covering a variety of therapeutic issues and topics.
